Cyborg Info & Hints In Cyborg you are part machine and part human. Your mind is also split: the machine part of your mind is the computer (which "scans"/looks at things and reports); the human part is the player(who decides what to do and types in commands). As the adventure begins, 'something really bad' has, evidently, happened recently. Your memory is impaired, your permanent Power-Pack is missing, and you have no idea who/where/why you are! Your quest is to get yourself together, find out what's going on, and, if necessary, fix it. Like many other early 1980's adventures, Cyborg recognizes simple one or two-word inputs-- e.g. SCAN LIZARD, GET POWER-PACK, CUT FRUIT, SHOOT SNAKE, TIE STRING, INSERT CARD, BREAK TRAPDOOR, OPEN CUBE, GO EAST (or EAST, or E), UP, DOWN, N, S, NE, SW, etc.. A very important game feature is the HELP command. HELP is not, as in most adventures, a 'wimp out' command. In Cyborg, it is treated like a special request to your machine/computer side for additional information about items, locations, and commands. (In terms of game design, it's a clever way of supplying information you would be able to obtain if the game had a more advanced, Infocom-class parser.) You are _supposed_ to use HELP, especially in 'interesting' places/situations. A good example is when you're on the N-S ramp near the electrified railing. The game allows one SAVE per game diskette. For multiple SAVEs, make two or three Disk Muncher copies of the diskette. It is possible to BREAK or otherwise destroy needed items (in which case you will notice no benefit from breaking something and do an immediate RESTORE). It is useful to know that your laser can, often, CUT an item without destroying the item and/or its contents. Also, one must, sometimes, WEAR an ID Card. Cyborg is a medium-length adventure produced by Sentient Software in 1981. It is available on Asimov. ----------------------- Itsme writes ... > > Wow, I have filled the harness, I can see in the dark too! > I made some pretty major discoveries today.
