Robotron Cheat and Info From: "Michael" Date: 26 Feb 2006 21:19:46 -0800 Newsgroups: comp.emulators.apple2 In my Quest for "All Things Apple", and searching the answers to the big Apple questions... I've finally been able answer this one after all these years... Q. Does Robotron ever end? This is my answer.... When the Logo appears, press F7 to enter the debugger and enter: (Note: For Debugger version(s) before 2.5.0.10, the // is not recognized as a comment, so don't type in the double forward slash, or the rest of the comment line.) // For Inifinite Lives E 40CC AD // To make the a game a little easier... // For invulnerability to the Grunts E 59B8 18 EA // Or if you _really_ want to be lazy .... god mode to everything ;-) E 59B8 18 EA // Grunt E 59BD 18 EA // Hulk E 59C2 18 EA E 59C7 18 EA E 59CC 18 EA E 59D1 18 EA E 59D6 18 EA E 59DB 18 EA E 59E0 18 EA E 59E5 18 EA E 59EA 18 EA // Tank's Missiles Note: The Random Number Generator at $4C36 is some-what buggy, and will stall the game occasionally. Your mileage will vary. Cheers _____________ From: Poake Date: Mon, 27 Feb 2006 22:27:45 GMT Newsgroups: comp.emulators.apple2 I always wondered if Robotron and Ms. Pacman and other arcade games released weren't emulated since they played uncannily similar to the arcade models. I was a top Robotron player at my local arcade where me and few others could "beat" the game and I remember the Apple ][ version played very realistically. Most Robotron machines went to level 99 then flipped back to either 0 or 1 (I forget) and the game difficulty went back to as if you just started. 9,999,900 was the best score to try and get without rolling that to 0 either. Every 5 waves you got the brains, 7s you got the tanks, 9s you got all grunts (9s are the hardest waves, 99 was brutal). Spereoids and Hulk (killer) levels were before and after the 7s. The higher you went, things started to mix in. _____________ From: "sicklittlemonkey" Date: 27 Feb 2006 16:54:36 -0800 Newsgroups: comp.emulators.apple2 IMNSHO, Robotron is the greatest arcade game ever written! I've not played the Apple 2 version much because Robotron _needs_ 2 microswitched joysticks attached to a cabinet at around waist height. (Like I have back in NZ.) Creator Eugene Jarvis (zee greatest game designer in zee world) thinks likewise, and still keeps one of these in his basement for conjugal visits with the difficulty cranked up to 10. After level 99 is the first level 0, but it's still difficult. And so is the second level 0. But after the third level 0 (which comes after the third level 56) is the real (easy) level 1. I'm pretty sure that's right, but it's been about 10 years ... Cheers, Nick.
